Revell/Iterlari
1/35
Completed December 2020
I finished this beast up last night. It’s the M47 Patton in 1/35 scale by Testors/Itelari. 100% out of the box build and hand painted. It came with a soldier walking next to it but the detail was so poor he looked like Gumby so tossed him.
It started out as a weekend project and which turned into 3 1/2 weeks. Since it’s my first tank I had no idea how much detail went into building one. Definitely a learning experience.
Most of the tank was done with Vallejo colors. The base coat is olive drab. Some detail colors were done with Testors Enamels. A dirty wash was applied to highlight detail around joints, bolts and recessed lines. Weathering/chipping was done with combinations of drybrushing Vallejo colors, applying different color chalks and pencil lead.
For my first armor kit I’m pretty happy with it.
