This started out as a quick and simple weekend build with no frills.   That changed into a 3 month build.   As expected, the old AMT kits don't fit together very well so a lot of seams needed to be filled.   While researching the paint on these tanks I found that the first season of The Cone Wars cartoon featured this blue and grey paint scheme which I found very appealing.  

 

I painted the main color blue with Testors enamel so I would have a strong base to work with.  Then I applied painters masking tape to get all the odd angles for the two tone color.  After two days work I had a pretty nice paint job.  

 

Once the paint was on I started with actual chipping and in some places I applied paint to make chips.   Weathering was done with artist oils and pastel chalks.   The final touch was a pair of antennas made out of wire that were not provided with the kit.
