JPG Productions 1/12
Completed January of 2022
The previous Gonk was part of a diorama that can be seen here. I wanted to go all out on this one and have some fun. I figured the Rebel Alliance has a wide variety of ships with different power needs and ways to connect that power so this Gonk has been upgraded over the years to accommodate all the different technologies it needed to service.
To complete my vision I had to use a lot of odd parts I had laying around. Here is a list. Lego parts, a sewing machine bobber, paper clips, various gauges of wire, guitar string, and some brass tubing.
I started with a primer and then covered it with some hairspray for chipping. Vallejo yellow was put on top of that. I tried not to go overboard with the chipping. The decals are from various decal sheets from other projects. The different squadron emblems were purchased off eBay. Weathering was done with some artist oils followed by pastel chalks. I also applied some chrome paint to highlight some of the chipped areas.
The Mouse droid was done pretty much the same way.
The base is a stl file I found online and printed on my 3D printer.
